General Information, Location, Map

The Older Adult Centre is exclusively for adults 50 years of age and older. It is located on the lower level of Square One Shopping Centre, between The Bay and The Bank of Montreal. Once inside the Shopping Centre, you can access the Centre via stairs or elevator. All rooms are wheelchair accessible. The Centre is managed by an incorporated, non-profit, volunteer Board of Directors. The organization is affiliated in good standing with Mississauga Recreation and Parks, Community Services Department.

    The Centre is open to the public Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Travel Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

    Membership

    Mississauga residents 50 years of age and older (spouses may be under 50) are welcome to join the Centre for $12.00 for the remainder of 2006 Calendar year. Non-residents may join for $14.00.

    Fall Programs

    Registration for Fall Programs will begin Monday, August 21, 2006. All program participants are expected to become members of the Centre and to pay the advertised fee for each program. Participants will be asked to show their membership cards. Guests can attend programs twice before becoming a member (program fees apply). Registration and fee payments (cash or cheque) are accepted in the Centre during public operating hours. The Board of Directors reserves the right to cancel or alter advertised program schedules. Full refunds are issued if the Centre is responsible for a cancelled program. Withdrawal Request Forms are available at the Administration Office, and must be submitted before the third class commences to be eligible for a refund. Refunds will be pro-rated and will include a $5.00 administration fee for each program.

    Cozy Corner Café

    Join us for an affordable lunch or snack between programs. We are open Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Our menu includes a variety of soups, sandwiches, desserts, and hot or cold beverages all prepared by our dedicated team of volunteers.

    Exercise Equipment - Get Fit!

    Don't have time to take a fitness class? Don't like the idea of joining one of those big gyms? Get your daily exercise right here at the Centre by taking advantage of our brand new Exercise Equipment. Learn how to use the Exercise Bike and Elliptical Trainer in minutes! It's easy and it's available when you feel like exercising.

    FREE TRAINING! FIRST VISIT FREE!
    $1.00 per 15 minute session or $10.00 for 18 sessions.

    Library

    Stop by our Library tucked away in the Cozy Corner Cafe. All books, puzzles, videos, books on tape and magazines may be borrowed for your enjoyment. Please use the sign-out book provided when borrowing items. A catalogue of books on tape and videos is available in the Library and items may be picked up at the Administration Office. Have items for the Library that you would like to donate? Just drop them off the next time you're in!

    Entertainment Book Fundraiser

    Everybody knows the Entertainment Book - full of 50% and 2-for-1 discounts on restaurants, movies, sporting events and more. Books are super easy to sell - people enjoy saving money while supporting a good cause!

    Older Adult Centre Staff points out that any member or non-member who sells 5 Entertainment Books online will receive a free 2007 Entertainment Book. Be sure to enter the Group Number: 174400.

    Grocery Receipt Fundraiser

    Drop off your Dominion, A&P, and Ultra Food Drug receipts to help raise money for the Centre!  The drop box is located in the Cozy Corner Cafe. Please note that anyone can transfer HBC rewards to the Older Adult Centre account.
