(2010 film) from Wikipedia. "The King's Speech is a 2010 British historical drama film directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler. Colin Firth plays King George VI who, to cope with a stammer, sees Lionel Logue, an Australian speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush."

What is antique? How to determine the Worth of a treasured item.
Realize the potential of your heirlooms! Treasure Antiques of Oakville will offer advice on Appraisals, Content and Estate Sales.
If you have a piece that you feel may be of value, Treasure Antiques will be pleased to do an appraisal, on site, for a minimal fee.
Refreshments will be served.
Red Coats Moving Solutions will also offer helpful downsizing tips.
Tips for Downsizing from Red Coats Moving:
● A well-planned move can have a huge impact on your settling quickly and comfortably into your new life. If you have lived in your home for many years, the thought of moving can be quite overwhelming. However, with these great tips you can start preparing now!
● Make a date with yourself once a week for 2 to 3 hours. You are setting aside time for sorting through your home. Remember it has taken you many years to accumulate things, it is going to take you some time to let them go.
● Pick a "magic" number, and stick with it. If you do like to keep boxes for potential gifts, limit your collectiion to 4 and don't add any more until you have used one up.
● Have 3 sorting piles: 1 - Keep; 2 - Sell, donate and recycle; and 3 - Rubbish. Remove the donations and rubbish as soon as possible.
● When sorting clothes, take all of them out of the closet and put them on the bed. Hold the item up to yourself, if the colour gives you a lift and you feel good about it, keep it, if not, let go.
● Try each pair of shoes on to make sure they fit comfortably and you can still walk in them! Those high heels sitting in the back of the closet may be ready to be recycled.
● Use birthdays and special holidays to give away some of the things you don't use any more. One of those pretty teacups and sauces filled with Valentine chocolates might be a nice gift to a grand-daughter; the whole collection is not.
● Most importantly, take the time to say goodbye to the things that are not coming with you.

"Can a day of simultaneous global ceasefire and non-violence convince belligerents to put down their weapons for 24 hours?" ~ Mississauga Central Library.
The Day After Peace (2008) Synopsis from Fandango.com. "In 1981, the United Nations established September 21 as the International Day of Peace, a holiday created to encourage the nations of the world to reject violence and war as means of resolving their differences. Jeremy Gilley is an actor and peace activist who in 1999 created the organization Peace One Day with the goal of promoting non-violence around the world and taking the International Day of Peace to the next level -- instead of using the day to promote a noble ideal, Gilley wants the warring nations of the world to agree to a 24 hour cease fire each year on September 21, making it a literal day of peace . . ." ~ Written by Mark Deming, Rovi.

"A senior citizens' chorus defies conventions and exceeds expectations with its interpretations of everyone from The Clash to Coldplay." ~ Mississauga Central Library.
Young @ Heart Plot Summary from IMDb. "Documents the true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for the Young at Heart Chorus in Northampton, MA, whose average age is 81, and many of whom must overcome health adversities to participate. Their music is unexpected, going against the stereotype of their age group, performing songs, for example, by James Brown, and Sonic Youth. Although they have toured Europe and sang for royalty, this account focuses on preparing new songs, not an easy endeavor, for a concert in their home town, which succeeds in spite of several real heart breaking events." ~ Written by Fox Searchlight.

"Born-again Christian children are recruited and trained to become an active part of America's political future." ~ Mississauga Central Library.
Jesus Camp Plot Summary from IMDb. "Jesus Camp follows several young children as they prepare to attend a summer camp where the kids will get their daily dose of evangelical Christianity. Becky Fischer works at the camp, which is named Kids on Fire. Through interviews with Fischer, the children, and others, Jesus Camp illustrates the unswerving belief of the faithful. A housewife and homeschooling mother tells her son that creationism has all the answers. Footage from inside the camp shows young children weeping and wailing as they promise to stop their sinning. Child after child is driven to tears. Juxtapose these scenes with clips from a more moderate Christian radio host (who is appalled by such tactics), and Jesus Camp seems to pose a clear question: are these children being brainwashed?" ~ Written by Ken Miller.

"The majority of immigrants are accepted for entry to Canada under the Skilled Worker Program in order to fill employment shortages in the labour market. Recent research has revealed that an increasing number of immigrants who gain entry under this programme face significant barriers to employment. As a result, many remain unemployed or accept employment below their field of education and training. However, the impacts such employment circumstances have on the health of recent highly-skilled immigrants have not yet been examined.
This presentation will discuss the results of a collaborative research project that explores the health impacts of under- and unemployment among skilled immigrants in Mississauga." ~ Info from The Royal Canadian Institute.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a major cause of disability and death in Canada.
According to an Ontario Lung Association release, there are currently 780,000 Ontarians living with COPD and that number is expected to escalate to 1.2 million in the next 30 years.
According to ICES, there were 13,653 known cases of COPD in the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (MHLHIN) in 2006.
COPD is a progressive disease defined by an airflow limitation that is not fully reversible. Coping with a chronic illness which has a high impact on self perception, life changes and family burden can be overwhelming and leads to high levels of anxiety, depression and social isolation.
Strategies for coping with these issues are effective and are an integral part of COPD management. Group interventions can be helpful to provide opportunities to connect socially and emotionally with people who share experiences and to offer different ways to solve problems and manage their conditions.
The Strong Bodies - Healthy Minds project will be hosting a COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases) event at the Westminster United Church at 4094 Westminster Road in Mississauga. This event will be observed under the caption “Life Beyond COPD”.
The aim of this event is to enhance the awareness of COPD and to highlight the importance of support groups for persons living with COPD.
This free event will be held on March 21, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Persons living with COPD, families and care givers are all invited. Parking is free and venue is wheelchair accessible.

Midnight in Paris - Plot Summary from IMDb. "Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents' business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Gil's daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he's about to marry." ~ Written by napierslogs.

For a vast majority of seniors who volunteer, their community service helps define who they are. According to research conducted for the Home Instead Senior Care® network, nearly 100 percent of North American senior volunteers say that, when compared to other things they do in their lives, volunteering is important. One in five senior volunteers says it is the most important thing they do.
By logging on the website SaluteToSeniorService.com, individuals can nominate seniors who volunteer in their communities. We are looking for those senior volunteers who go above and beyond making a difference for others.
Any senior volunteer is welcome to attend the event. It will give us a chance to thank them personally as well as recognize some of the exceptional stories that have been submitted to the website.

Rango (2011 film) from Wikipedia.
Plot summary from IMDB. "Rango is a pet chameleon always on the lookout for action and adventure, except the fake kind, where he directs it and acts in it. After a car accident, he winds up in an old western town called Dirt. What this town needs the most is water, but they also need a hero and a sheriff. The thirsty Rango instantly takes on the role of both and selfishly agrees to take on the case of their missing water." ~ Written by napierslogs.
Plot synopsis from IMDB. "In the back of a small car, in a small aquarium, resides a small, unnamed chameleon (Johnny Depp). The only living creature in his 'environment,' Rango has fancied himself as an actor, with several inanimate object as his friends and fellow thespians. In his self-contained world, Rango's 'friends' tell him that even though he fancies himself a hero, he needs a challenge . . ." ~ Updated by uruseiranma.
