"Murphy's Law"
Movie Night at Heart House Hospice

Tuesday, August 14, 2018 - 6:30 - 8:30 pm

This is a FREE event. "Murphy's Law" (2014) Runtime: 1 hour 16 minutes.

Murphy's Law Trailer. Vimeo video, 2:27 min. from Megan Murphy: Murphy's Law - A Documentary Film.

This documentary is about Megan Murphy and her journey to help her find her own way forward.

"On the eve of my 35th birthday, I found myself returning my engagement ring to my newly titled 'Ex'-fiance, packing up my small car with all my worldly belongings and moving back to my parents home ... back to the support and succour of family. Except for one disconcerting fact - both my parents are dead. I had been my mom's primary caregiver during her battle with cancer until her death in September 2012. Eight years before, I stood by my father's bedside when he succumbed to the same illness. I moved into their place, into my pyjamas and into a deep depression. My sisters, Kate and Kerry, were terrific support but had their own lives and families. So here I was ...

At 35 I felt lost, broken and ready to surrender. Until ... I found the diary ... This journal chronicled my father's solo bicycle trip through southern Ireland in 1973. He was only 26 years old at the time. I also found his 1973 10-speed Peugeot hanging in the rafters of the garage." ~ From Murphy's Law, Indiegogo Projects, July 2014.

Struggling with her own grief and broken heart, Megan Murphy decides to take her father's journal and his original 1973 red Peugeot and return to the land of her ancestors.

"With this brave and beautiful film, Megan has given us a gift by sharing her very personal journey with the entire world ... The emotional hub of the film belongs to Megan's late father Marty Murphy, who passed away of cancer in 2004 but is very much alive in this film. Marty is a constant presence in the film through his writings, photos, and video footage ...

Murphy's Law is an awe-inspiring film of one woman's journey to reconnect with her father and find herself again. While watching it, you will look at your own life and your own losses. It will make you reflect but also give you hope and joy and courage." ~ From Murphy's Law: a brave and beautiful film by Sam Tweedle, kawarthaNOW, June 21, 2016.

You are invited to stay after the documentary for discussion and light refreshments.

Balancing and Clearing Our Chakras
Using Essential Oils
by Awaken My Senses

Essential Oils Google image from https://education.goodnessme.ca/event/5126

Thursday, August 16, 2018
6:30 - 8:00 pm

FREE

Instructor: Awaken My Senses

Energy is everything and everywhere. It flows around and through us. We have 7 main energy centers in the body called Chakras. These Chakras act as channels, directing energy and connecting our thoughts and emotions with our physical body. When one or more of our Chakras are blocked, we feel both physical and emotional discomfort.

In this seminar, we look at:
● The location of each of the 7 Chakras.
● Their psychological function and how to tell if they are out of balance.
● The area of the body they govern and what you may experience physically when they are out of balance.
● How to clear a blocked Chakra using essential oils and deep breathing.
● Your individual energy levels.

Using a multi-point hand sensor, we measure fine variations in your body temperature and the electromagnetic field of energy flowing through and around you. This information is used to generate detailed imagery of your Chakra states and overall energy balance. Each participant will receive a printout of their own Chakras and energy levels.
