● Support for "naturally occurring" retirement communities by investing more than $15 million over two years for apartment buildings or housing developments where many seniors already live close to one another.

Since the earliest time when people first star-gazed the heavens, we have wondered what lay beyond the twinkling lights in the firmament. Are we alone in the universe? Have other living beings in these celestial bodies looked back at us with the same curiosity?
Drawing on the fertile imaginations of the earliest sci-fi literary geniuses, Hollywood film makers, and modern day cosmologists, Lianne Harris boldly goes into the other-worldly possibilities of space, the final frontier.
Lianne has been a history, culture and social studies resource specialist with the Toronto District School Board for almost 20 years and has been the guest instructor and workshop leader for teachers across many boards in Southern Ontario. To date, usually dressed in authentic period clothing, she has taught over 50,000 teachers and students. She is the author of many books including A Winter's Knight (a blending of medieval history and fiction for teeenage readers), two medieval novels as well as non-fiction books on Bangladesh, Odyssey, India, great women in history, historical clothing and costuming, and world travel photography.

Mississauga has a story to tell.
The City of Mississauga wants to capture Mississauga's entire story. Everything from our early Indigenous roots to present day newcomer diversity. The Story of M will collect these stories and use them to influence Museum artifacts and collections, interpretation, exhibitions and programming, public art and events, as well as the priorities for designating heritage properties.
The Museums of Mississauga and the City's Culture Division will be going across Mississauga in an effort to collect, listen and share stories with residents. There are lots of ways that you can contribute to Mississauga's legacy. Stories will be collected and reviewed by a Panel to determine the community's priorities.
Join the conversation and come share your story and hear the stories of others at an evening of storytelling. It can be your first experience moving to Mississauga, or your great-grandmother's story of growing up on a farm in Meadowvale.
