"Life and death are a package deal. They cannot be pulled apart and we cannot truly live unless we are aware of death. Death is not waiting for us at the end of a long road. Death is always with us, in the marrow of every passing moment. She is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight. She helps us to discover what matters most. And the good news is we don't have to wait until the end of our lives to realize the wisdom that death has to offer."
In this fascinating talk, Frank will share the distilled, hard-won lessons synthesized from 30 years of being with dying. He will introduce his The Five Invitations, principals that show us how to wake up fully to our lives. They can be understood as best practices for anyone navigating a life transition, coping with loss or serious illness or a personal crisis; they guide us toward appreciating life's preciousness.
Weaving together pragmatic tools, real life stories and ancient wisdom, Frank helps us discover how an awareness of death can be a valuable companion on the road to living well, forging a rich and meaningful life free of regret.

Plot Summary from IMDb. "The final Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, is tasked with overseeing the transition of British India to independence, but meets with conflict as different sides clash in the face of monumental change."
Watch VICEROY'S HOUSE - Official Trailer - Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson. YouTube video, 2:21 min. Published on Dec 15, 2016 by patheuk. "The End of an Empire. The Birth of Two Nations. Based on a True Story.
Directed by Gurinder Chadha, VICEROY'S HOUSE tells the true story of the final months of British rule in India.
Viceroy's House in Delhi was the home of the British rulers of India. After 300 years, that rule was coming to an end. For 6 months in 1947, Lord Mountbatten (played by Hugh Bonneville), great grandson of Queen Victoria, assumed the post of the last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people.
The film's story unfolds within that great House. Upstairs lived Mountbatten together with his wife (Gillian Anderson) and daughter (Lily Travers); downstairs lived their 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants. As the political elite - Nehru, Jinnah and Gandhi - converged on the House to wrangle over the birth of independent India, conflict erupted. A decision was taken to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan. It was a decision which consequences reverberate to this day ...
