A note on The Bay:
"Before 1965: The old-time typeface and full Hudson’s Bay Company name signified the identity of Canada’s oldest company.
1965-2013: The Bay’s stylized B was an attempt at a more modern, “folk-friendly” look, and made official the shorter nickname Canadians already had for the stores. It was designed by Lippincott & Margulies.
2013: The name returns to full-form Hudson’s Bay, with an all-caps, simpler typeface, accompanied by the coat of arms. The design was developed by New York-based agency Lipman. The coat of arms was redrawn by Canadian artist Mark Summers, but elements remain the same, including two moose holding up the shield with the cross of St. George and four beavers topped with a fox sitting on a cap. It also includes the original Latin motto that was dropped in the crest redesign of 2002, 'pro pelle cutem' – 'skin for skin,' or '[animal] skins obtained at the cost of [human] skin'."
~ Info from: New logo, old name: The Bay returns to its roots by Susan Krashinsky, 14:01 EST Wednesday, Mar 06, 2013. TORONTO --- Bye bye, Bay “B.” Article from Globe and Mail.

Letters from Iwo Jima - Plot Summary from IMDb. "The island of Iwo Jima stands between the American military force and the home islands of Japan. Therefore the Imperial Japanese Army is desperate to prevent it from falling into American hands and providing a launching point for an invasion of Japan. General Tadamichi Kuribayashi is given command of the forces on the island and sets out to prepare for the imminent attack. General Kuribayashi, however, does not favor the rigid traditional approach recommended by his subordinates, and resentment and resistance fester among his staff. In the lower echelons, a young soldier, Saigo, a poor baker in civilian life, strives with his friends to survive the harsh regime of the Japanese army itself, all the while knowing that a fierce battle looms. When the American invasion begins, both Kuribayashi and Saigo find strength, honor, courage, and horrors beyond imagination." ~ Written by Jim Beaver.

Through shared stories and the retelling of key memories, Mixed Company Theatre has woven together a theatrical production that captures the voices of Toronto seniors. Life Gets in the Way was developed in collaboration with other 200 seniors and stars senior actors from Toronto. The play follows the characters as they confront legal and financial issues, dementia, intimacy and the overbearing nature of technology. These are just a few topics seniors face not only in the play, but in their day to day lives. The performance is designed in the style of Forum theatre, a great platform to raise awareness and educate the community on the various challenges that seniors face and how they can meet those challenges. The audience is catalyzed to discuss and change the outcomes. During the second act, the spect-actors get an opportunity to created positive options, alternatives, and solutions. Each performance is bolstered by a panel of experts from the community: advisers on elder abuse, anti-fraud experts, and health practitioners. These experts participate in the forum by sharing their knowledge on the issues raised.
Mixed Company Theatre would like to thank all of the organizations who attended their shows and contributed their expert knowledge to the forum:
