Sit and Dance
with Sunny

Seniors Exercise in Chairs Google image from http://www.inspirationalfurniture.com/singleimages/senior-citizen-exercises-vpeced4w0rrehjlp.jpg

Thursdays, October 6, 13, 20, 27, 2016 - 2:15 - 3:15 pm

This FUN class encourages you to express yourself with dance moves, tamborines and scarves while you are safely sitting in a chair.

Sit and Dance is a combination of breathing, stretching, exercising and dancing to music while seated in a chair. Each song is music to a dance which may be a German, Italian, Filipino, Hawaiian or New Zealand folk dance, or the Waltz, Twist and Polka. You do only what you can and the dance need not be strenuous.

The class improves body co-ordination and a sense of rhythm, which is very important for seniors who need to move and synchronize their mind and body. It is also a great aerobic exercise, improving circulation, breathing and flexibility. This class is not just for people with physical issues, but is good for everybody!

This is a drop-in program and costs $3.25 per visit.

Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day
Mississauga Halton Central West

Credit Valley Hospital

BRA Day Google image from http://raleighplasticsurgery.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/BRA-Day.jpg

Wednesday, October 26, 2016 - 5:00 - 9:00 pm

Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day - a program of Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - is an initiative that promotes education, awareness and access for women considering post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.

At a BRA Day event, leading plastic surgeons provide breast reconstruction education and are available to answer your questions.

The highlight of a BRA Day event is the Show & Tell Lounge, an innovative space where volunteers show attendees the real-life results of their breast reconstruction. BRA day events provide women with the opportunity to:
● Learn about their breast reconstruction options from plastic surgeons
● Hear patient stories and connect with women who have been through it
● Develop realistic expectations of what reconstruction can achieve
● Get answers to their reconstruction questions

Breast reconstruction may not be the right choice for every woman, but every woman deserves to have access to accurate, unbiased information so that she can make an informed decision.
